Positions Vacant and Service Opportunities ...

Positions Vacant
The Area B Committee has filled the positions vacant at the recent Area Assembly, and is currently advertising for 'alternates' for each position - for people to learn more about the Area level of service and provide back-up for those positions as required.
The Central Service Office Committee will shortly have a position vacant for a treasurer, and is also seeking alternates for positions on the committee - for people to learn more about the CSO level of service and provide back-up for those positions as required.
The Office also needs members to staff the office, 10am to 3pm weekdays. If you have a year of continuous sobriety, please contact us.
Service
opportunities
There are many opportunities to do service in the area. Many people do service at a group level, helping to set up meetings or otherwise be involved in the running of their group.
Other types of service performed by AA members include:
- Being on the 12 Step List and being available to carry the message to the alcoholic who still suffers
- Going on the Diverta Roster, as a regular or backup, or organizing their group to do a regular timeslot - to be on the 12 Step List or to take Diverta calls, members need to have at least one year sobriety. Contact the Diverta Co-ordinator for more information.
- Carrying the message to correctional facilities and treatment centres. Members are
invited to become part of a group of people who are willing to carry the message inside correctional facilities - for more information, please contact the Correctional Facilities Team.
- Being part of Public Information activities - contact the PI Co-ordinator for more information
- Staffing the AA Office, as a regular or backup staffer - contact the Office for more information
- Being a Group Service Representative (GSR) or Central Service Representative and liaising between home groups and the Area B Committee and the Central Service Office Committee when necessary - ask your home group if it has a GSR or a CSR
- Participating in Area or Central Service Office Committees - contact the Office for more information
