Combined National Services Forum

Message to AA Eastern Region Area B Groups

Every two years an AA Area hosts the Combined National Services Forum, which focuses on public

information and awareness and working with professional communities. The forum addresses

outreach efforts to justice, correctional and treatment facilities and work to ensure AA is accessible

to individuals with disabilities and those in remote communities. In 2024 the forum was held in

Adelaide. As of now, no Area has submitted a bid to host the 2026 forum.

At the last Area B Assembly, the committee discuss the feasibility of submitting a bid to host the

forum in Canberra. Those attending the Assembly felt it would be a wonderful service opportunity

but no decision has been made yet. The Eastern Region AreaB Committee is asking for your

feedback. Please discuss these two questions at your Group Concience;

Does your group support Area B bidding to host the 2026 Forum?

If Area B wins the bid, will your group help organise and support the event?

Active support could include

  • Serving on the Organising Committee

  • Organising fundraising events

  • Spreading the word in the fellowship

If the majority of groups agree; Area B will move forward with the bid.

You can have your GSR tell Area what you decide at the May Area B meeting or email chair@aaareaber.org.au, or contact one of the GSRs listed.

The Area B Committee will discuss the results at the June meeting.

As Bill W. said in 1951; "we need to keep building understanding and goodwill towards AA in all areas, including religion, medicine, employers, government and media. We must reach more alcoholics and spread the message of AA."
